Jan-Ingvar Jönsson has been vice-chancellor at Linköping University (LiU) since July 2020. He has also been a professor of medical cell biology at LiU since 2008. Vice-Chancellor Jönsson has held various national academic positions, including that of Secretary General at the Swedish Research Councils for Medicine and Health (2016-2020), Clinical Therapy Research (2016-2020), and Clinical Studies (2018-2020). He has also held international positions including Chair of the Executive Committee of the International consortium for Personalised medicine (ICPermed) in collaboration with the European commission (2018-2020), Chair (since 2019) and Vice-Chair (2016-2018) for the EU’s Joint programming initiative for antimicrobial resistance (JPIAMR), and President of the Joint Committee of the Nordic Medical Research Councils (NOS-M) (2016-2020).
